The U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III left Afghanistan for Qatar on Sunday night, carrying what is believed to be among the highest number of people ever flown in such an aircraft, according defense and security news site Defense One.
Thousands of Afghans rushed onto the tarmac of Kabul's airport seeking transportation out of the country. The C-17 was among several other flights that carried hundreds of Afghans out of the country, according Defense One.
