You know I’d tell you everything, all it is to know, how blogging makes you feel but even as I am only five years into the something, I am not sure I can do that to the very best yet. Maybe those 3000 light years into the journey can do justice to that.
However, I can tell you a few stuff about those things lol. Read that again 👆?
Anyways if starting a blog has been on your mind for a while now, uhm.. you have something you’re passionate about and want to share it with the world, you want to make some side money or even turn it into a full-fledged business.
or you just want to have fun and learn in the process…
This post is for you regardless, especially if you’re a Nigerian as I have a sweet offer for you at the end. But fest (First) here are a few reasons why you should put more thoughts into starting a blog in Nigeria today.
Let’s get started.
1. Keep Track of Yourself
start a blog in nigeria
Lol, who’d need a blog to keep track of themselves? Someone like me.
Let me remind you that a blog is just like your diary or journal. You write on it the but the only difference is that it’s online and public, anybody can read it but is that not the goal anyway?
If you’ve read my post on how bloggers make money online you’ll recognize that the more people read your blog… The richer you’re likely to be and feel even more accomplished.
So people can know that you’re properly functioning as a human being and you do have good stuff up there in your head and sane enough to document them down in fact in addition savvy enough to add them to a blog.
Yikes 😂🤓 One of the main reasons I started this blog is to do just that. Keep track of myself. Put everything I’m learning into writing and eventually into practice. I’d put them into the paper but it won’t be as fun as blogging plus you won’t be here trying to learn about the things I know cause they’d be inside a hard copy in my room.
I’ll put it this way. Starting and running a blog is simply one of the most effective ways of impacting yours and other people’s life 😋😊
Shikena! let’s move on to the other reasons why you may want to consider running a blog in Nigeria 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
2. Learn More About a Topic
I’m sorry if these points sound boring to you but it depends on how you see them anyway.
If you’re quite knowledgeable about a particular topic, let’s say Cars, for example, starting a blog and writing often about cars may just cause for more research since you have to put more articles out thereby improving your knowledge on that topic.
This is a win-win situation for you and your readers. You get to learn more during your research about Cars and they get to learn from you which takes us to our next point.
3. Position Yourself as the Expert
start a blog in nigeria position yourself as the expert
I bet you already consider me as an expert already since I am talking about these things with you. Lol but I wouldn’t call myself an expert just yet as we are all still learning, refer to point number one…
Even after five years of being into the rodeo I still feel there’s a lot to learn and a time will come when I can comfortably accept the title “Expert“.
Maybe in 5007 light years from now 😂😁 But even five years is a long time and during that time I have consumed so much that even I am scared of the things I know and the thing is I could teach them to you under five months.
In other words, what am I saying?
The more time you spend blogging about a particular topic, the more you’re seen as the expert… the more you become an expert, the go-to person in that field..
When you think Entertainment and gossip in Nigeria, your mind goes to Linda Ikeji right? And for wedding inspiration and reasonable news lol, we think BellaNaija.com right? That’s kinda how it’s gonna be for you should you do things right.
4. There Aren’t Many Authority Blogs In Nigeria Yet
And there’s still a chance for you to capitalize on that fast before the place gets over-runned. In my own opinion anyway.
There’s more to talk about than entertainment and tech which is the order of the day in this our country.
There are food and recipes, health and fitness, DIY and crafts which includes hair and makeup, tons of other niches that are not being explored yet and you can use that to your advantage.
I bet with you a lot of people are searching, waiting for you to start writing, sharing what you know with them but because you want to go in with the intention of the last point, you miss it all by getting yourself into a super competitive niche and you begin gasping for attention.
What I’m saying is in a country like Nigeria it is too easy for now to start a blog and become an authority in your blog niche. Authority means more traffic, more money, and more fame. Watch me do it in less than a year or two 😂😂😂
