#BBNaija 2018: 5 Relationship Lessons To Learn From Big Brother Nigeria

BBNaija 2018 is over but the media buzz is far from over. The former housemates are still riding on the wave of popularity caused by the show and we sure can’t blame them. BBNaija is an opportunity to blow and those who are smart will make the best of it.

Many people criticize the show and say it’s a waste of time, but it’s really a matter of perspective. Nothing is a waste unless you say it is, and even then there’s always something you can learn. That being said, here are five relationship lessons you can learn from BBNaija 2018:

1. Don’t judge a book by its cover

Tobi fell for Cee C because she looked good on the outside but he didn’t bargain for the kind of character or personality she brought forward. Looks can be very deceptive so you need to look beyond the outside before you choose to date someone.

2. It takes maturity to make a relationship work

Bam Bam and Teddy A, who seem to be going very strong now, were mature about handling their conflicts. Mature people know that every relationship will have its challenges but how you handle them is what will either make or break it.

3. Avoid toxic people

Tobi learned this about Cee C and K-brule and Khloe got each other kicked out. Toxic people will poison your life and ruin you if you’re not careful. Don’t let them in your space and if they somehow get in, kick them out ASAP!

4. Control your emotions

Cee C was clapping about and making a fuss, K-brule tried to kill himself over Anto and Khloe insulted K-brule’s mother. Emotions can run wild in relationships, but you must have self control or you will do something stupid or potentially dangerous. Emotions are bad leaders, control them instead of following them.

5. Anything can happen

A relationship is not a do-or-die affair so you should be ready for whatever comes your way. Teddy A had a girlfriend before getting into the House but now he’s with Bam Bam. This is not to say you should be paranoid or cynical, but you must keep an open mind. At the end of the day, you can’t force anyone to love you or stay with you, so if someone wants to say goodbye, let them go. There’s always better waiting in the future.
