As the Police continues to clamp down on suspected internet fraudsters, a team of officers have carried out arrests in Benin city. A video currently going viral on social media shows the moment officers of the Nigeria Police Force arresting some suspected internet fraudsters, otherwise known as 'Yahoo boys' in Benin, Edo State. The suspects are seen being bundled into Police vehicles even as they resist arrest, prompting the officers to assault and use force on them.  

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’abba, has asked former President, Chief  Olusegun Obasanjo to keep quiet instead of attacking the current  government . Obasanjo had, earlier in the week, declared that he was ready for investigation, after President  Muhammadu Buhari  suggested that funds earmarked for power projects under his tenure were mismanaged. A Nigerian medical doctor, Dr. William Michael who turned to a professional internet hacker has revealed that he had the capacity to hack into any bank in Nigeriaand withdraw N1bn within 67 minutes. It was reported that the Imo State-born Michael whose mother is from Delta State also revealed that all the banks in Nigeria do not have enough security as none of them had what he described as firewalls to prevent access to their accounts through the internet. He said it was very easy to have access into both the banks and their customers accounts and defraud them. “It is so easy to hack into any bank account, pick alerts and send to customers from the bank data that look real but are fake” he said. The thief was caught and beaten mercilessly An angry mob descended heavily on a thief after he was caught stealing recharge cards worth over N150,000 in  Delta state .  It was gathered that the man arrived a shop where phones, recharge cards are sold and deceived the new sales girl to give him the cards. After getting the recharge cards without paying, the man was about to flee in a motorcycle which was waiting for him before the owner of the shop walked in. The sad incident happened yesterday. The shop owner pursued him on top of the motorcycle and dragged him to the floor. His accomplice, the motorcycle rider fled and abandoned his colleague. The thief who was beaten black and blue by passersby  had to beg for his life before he was handed over to security operatives.

Ebere who has just finished her West African Secondary School Leaving Certificate was allegedly stabbed to death over an alleged refusal to date Oladapo; her presumed boyfriend. The incident according to sources happened at No 3 Obasuyi Street, Ijoka in Akure, the state capital. Police sources disclosed that the deceased and the man presumed to be her boyfriend was in the house when an argument began among them as a result of which the man took a knife and allegedly stabbed the girl on her chest and other parts of her body She was said to have fell and bled to death. Neighbours, who got wind of the incident alerted the police, who quickly arrived at the scene of the crime. The proprietor of a school in Ogun state has been arrested for allegedly tying two pupils to a cross while the principal flogged them afterward. Afolayan Joseph, proprietor of Metorite Standard School in the Ayetoro area of Ogun state and the school’s principal are reported to have meted out the callous punishment to the students, then attacked a police officer who ordered them to untie the students. Punch Metro reports that the policeman, whose name was given only as Livinus, ordered Afolayan Joseph to untie the students but the proprietor refused then went on to also beat up the policeman. Following the attack, Livinus called the Divisional Police Officer of the Itele Police Station to send officers to arrest the proprietor and his principal. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests of the two men, as well as a teacher in the school. He said they will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
