Bayelsa senator, Ben Burray Bruce has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress after joining in the year 2014.
There are indications that Nigerian business magnate and politician, Atiku Abubakar might be strolling back into the People's Democratic Party in no distant time.
The former Vice President has dumped Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Senator Ben Murray Bruce has joined the array of Nigerian politicians in congratulating Atiku over his exit. He has also encouraged Atiku to return to the PDP under which he served as Vice President for 8 years.
He went on Twitter to say:
"I congratulate @Atiku for leaving the APC. It took courage especially as he has wide business investments that are already and could be further targeted. I, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, now appeal to Waziri Adamawa, to return to the house he helped build, PDP."
The former vice president who challenged President Muhammadu Buhari for the APC ticket in the build up to the 2015 elections hasn't indicated the new party he would join.
Meanwhile, a political group, ‘PDP Concerned Elders Consultative Forum’, has pleaded with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to return to the party.
This is as posters bearing image of the chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, flooded the Katsina State secretariat of the PDP, on Monday.
Inscriptions on some read: “Wazirin, we earnestly want you back in PDP”; “Atiku, political son of Katsina State for 2019”; “Wazirin, the bridge builder”.
