Ajimobi called on the institute to partner the state government on employment generation, adding that there were so many unemployed youths in the state.

Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has called on Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria(CIIN) to develop products to cushion negative effects of job losses in Nigeria.

The governor made the call when a delegation of the CIIN paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Friday in Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the CIIN delegation was led by its President, Mrs Funmi Babington-Ashaye, the 48th President of the institute.

Ajimobi said: “It is very essential for your Institute to champion the cause of the institute further by making your services more relevant to the current situation in the country.

“You should do more in insuring the people on their jobs. There are job loss and those involved expect that something needs to be done to mitigate the negative effect of such,’’ Ajimobi said.

The governor, who was represented by Alhaji Olalekan Alli, Secretary to the State Government, said that it was essential for the institute to make its services more affordable and relevant.

He called on the institute to partner the state government on employment generation, adding that there were so many unemployed youths in the state.

Ajimobi said that the administration was more willing and committed to partnering professional associations to create conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive.

Babington-Ashaye lauded the achievements of the governor since his assumption of office in spite of the lean resources of the state.

The CIIN president said that the visit was aimed at opening new frontiers and to strengthen relationship between the state government and the institute.

She said that the role of the Institute was to determine the standard and skills required for ethical and professional delivery of insurance services in Nigeria.

Babington-Ashaye said the institute had embarked on the promotion of insurance education and creation of awareness as part of its strategic effort to unlock the huge potential of the industry.

“We will continue to take deliberate steps to enlighten the public about the invaluable benefits of insurance, introduce initiatives aimed at repositioning the industry as well as contribute to the nation’s GDP.

“To achieve this, we are desirous of partnering with the state government and corporate entities,’’ she said.

A 38-year-old zoo keeper was filmed in full action impregnated a female orangutan

A 38-year-old zoo keeper was filmed in full action by a series of hidden cameras put in place by the zoo’s security officials after doubts emerged about the man’s devious actions towards the zoo animals. “Some animals seemed sexually aroused when it was time to feed them”  explains Akhiroel Yahya, employee of the zoo for 14 years. “But what made us most suspicious was when we discovered Marylin, our oldest orangutan, was pregnant. She has never been in contact with any other orangutans because of her aggressive nature, so it didn’t make any sense”  he said, visibly troubled by the news. Confused zoo officials admitted that it took them sometime before being able to explain what had actually happened. “At first, we clearly did not comprehend what had happened,” admits the zoo’s director, Abdoel Hakim. “Marilyn has been secluded for the past 10 years, it was a total mystery,”  he added. “It...
