Mayweather cements his legend with huge win over McGrego

- Super welterweight Floyd Mayweather remains undefeated 50 - 0 matches
- Jack Badau defeated Nathan Cleverly to win the WBA lightweight championship
- Mayweather and MMA star McGregor made at least $100m each from the fight
Floyd Mayweather cemented his legendary status in boxing and combat sports by defeating Mixed MArtial Arts (MMA) star Conor McGregor in the money fight.
The fight was held at the T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada, USA on Sunday, August 28.

The kick off bout for the money fight was for the WBA lightweight championship belt. The holder was Nathan Cleverly who was challenged by Badau Jack.

The second was a junior lightweight clash between challenger Francisco Focenca and holder Gervonta Davis.
The ring announcer for the match was Jimmy Lennon. Referee was Russell Mora.
Davis retained his title after a controversial punch to the back of his opponent's head ended the fight .
Despite a slight delay, the main match eventually kicked off at 5.10 am.
The match was a super welterweight bout between MMA star Connor McGregor and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
The referee was Robert Byrd. Round one belonged to McGregor who landed two jabs on Floyd. McGregor continued to land punches on Mayweather and won the first three rounds.

Mayweather left it to Conner as he used his experience to last longer.
By the 7th round McGregor was already tiring out and Floyd took the initiative to muster consecutive jabs.

By the 9th round, Mayweather was the top dog in the pound and it was beginning to become obvious he would win as Conner became wobbly.
The Nevada native landed 4 heavy blows to his opponent in the tenth round as the referee called off the fight.
